I've got a little baby fat, but for the most part I'm comfortable with my body.

how does someone even get like that?

How does someone stand up like that?

Edit: That's not (just) meant to be a joke. It's just that most people I've seen like that are bed-ridden or in wheelchairs or something.

Maybe you should aim for more muscle.  Just saying.

nah. i played hockey for 12 years and the past two years of high school i was constantly building muscle in the gym. i looked pretty thick because i had a lot of it, thick to the point where i pretty much looked chunky. i weighed about 155.

i suppose im just going to try to tone what i have as opposed to losing or gaining more.

Not that I'm an expert at this or anything, but I'd suggest:

Don't set up a crazy-hardcore plan or promise to work out at the gym for 3 hours a day, every day, because you're probably not going to stick with it, and instead of just doing less, you'll end up doing nothing at all.  It's best to find something you like to do and make time to do it a few times a week.

Same with diets. Those extreme diets rarely work and it's better to just make little changes to eat healthier than to cut out certain foods completely.

To stay in shape, the little things work for me.  Like...if I'm watching TV I'll do crunches or little exercises while I watch.  When it's nice out I try to jog once or twice a week.  For me, it helps that I can't stand soda and pretty much only drink water or juice.
I only do this until I get dizzy & then I lay down on my back & watch the clouds, he said. It sounds simple but you won't believe how many people forget the second part.

here is a good website. you put in all your info and they craft a diet to your limits. they give you a meal plan for each day, and a shopping list each week. sounds great.

http://www.50millionpounds.com/

also, i just wanted to put it out there: the feeling you have right after coming inside from jogging is one of the best feelings ever. try it if you don't do it much

You gotta go, you got to go! Sometimes there's dead arabs under you, but what can you do?

You have to be careful with juice though, theres lots of sugar in it

Everyday I do 30-45 minutes of cardio followed by 15-20 minutes of body weight exercises (push ups, sit ups, etc.). After I take a bit of a break I do some more cardio via dance

Feels good, hopefully I'll be in shape by summer  :-D

my friend is into body building and just gave me a bunch of papers explaining the science of losing weight.

Supposedly you have to eat 5-6 meals a day... I'll give this a go...

Are you sure that's losing weight and not bulking up?

you shouldn't measure your success in weight, rather your waist size.

He's right. But like someone said, it should be 5-6 small meals. This way your metabolism keeps going. If you're going to eat just 3 meals, your body goes into ''survival'' mode (since you're eating less), and your metabolism slows down. I think this is fairly correct, just very simplified.

Good luck!

Also, take 2 fish oil tablets twice a day and 1 flax seed tablet twice a day. They boost your metabolism and are good for you. I've started doing it maybe about 3 weeks to a month ago. Works.
