Ah ok, should I just go for a half hour walk every other day then? I sit in an office all day so I feel like I need to at least do something every day.

no, when you do sth you should do it for over 30 minutes cause thats the point when fat gets burned. perfect time is around 40 minutes.

nothing wrong with doing sth every day, but you shouldnt run everyday. so maybe running 3-4 times a week and a short walk or a ride with your bike on the other days might fit. as i said it's important that your body and muscels can recreate

If you want to lose weight, doing cardio interval training, like run for 5 minutes, walk for 1, run for 5, walk for 1, etc. That interval training makes you fitter and burns fat faster.

Yeah I'm doing that sort of thing at the moment, but taking it really easy to start off with. I may not be ridiculously out of shape, but I am very unfit. Thanks for the advice guys, I'll see how I go.

run as often as your body feels it will let you or wants to.

that's the best advice i've found.

work out as hard as you can if that's what works.
as often as you'd like to.

i've read a lot of things that say you should take days off, or only lift weights 3-4 days a week

i usually lift 5-6 days a week and work/play soccer on one of my days off and that's been working great with me the past couple years.
i get bored with taking days off and feel unaccomplished if i just sit around all day.

i see it as: if i train my body everyday/almost everyday, it will adjust and become used to that routine.

Really? I always thought interval training was best to improve cardio and fitness, but never knew it burned fat faster. I've always trained (for hockey) off of interval training for the past four or five years, but I thought that walking uphill/hill training was better for losing weight, correct me if I'm wrong though  :-P I've never really had to worry about burning fat, but I've stopped playing hockey competitively since I got injured and have been gaining weight, so I'm trying to find the best routines that burn off overall body fat.

Today I've suddenly gotten extremely self concious about my body and I'm going to lose weight. I was running twice a week and doing circus fit classes once a week and started pilates, but for the past 2 weeks or so I've stopped so I'm starting again tomorrow.

I didn't go to circus fit tonight cos i'm way too hungover and the thought of doing lots of roley poley, long hand-stands, running around the gym on your hands and feet like a cheetah etc made me wanna vom.

This is the worst for me. I feel as if avoiding hangovers are my biggest obstacle in becoming "fit" once again

The other week I hadn't slept for 2 nights, had only eaten 1 meal in that time and was hungover... Then went for a 30-40 minute run and I felt so fucked. Like my head felt like it was going to explode and my eyes would pop out of my head. Never doing that again..

Hahah I feel you, such a regrettable feeling. But at the same time, while you're hung over, you feel as if you should be doing something. Puts me in a down mood when I can't due to the hangover.

I've slimmed back down to 165 lbs, fucking gay.

160 lbs now, I don't think I've been below 160 since grade 11.

The only solution is proper diet and exercise.

Bulimia/purging makes you gain more weight. It fucks up your metabolism, and when you puke you don't get it all out anyway.
