basically i hardly play drums anymore but still have a load of drum gear and decided to get rid of almost all of it.

i'm in the UK so this is really only for the UK members.

I'm not really up to date on my currency conversions, but arn't those cymbal prices ridiculous?

no not really, all cheaper than gak.co.uk which is what i ran my prices from, which is probably the cheapest music website in the uk.

like in the uk a 21" sweet ride is £240 while indoor storm have them at $284, so as you see the conversion to the pound is not what he product is worth, by google's conversion the cymbal is only worth £190

This. 40 off a used sweet ride? You gotta realize that most serious drummers now a day think of sweet ride and travis barker together. Thinking of travis barker leads to the drummer imagining brutal bashing. Which leads to them not buying a cymbal that is only 40 cheaper.

I would sell for 170 at least.

hmmmm i understand the mentality behind that, but i've been playing drums for 11 years now and i've never broken a cymbal in my life and could safely say i have near perfect technique.

the condition of the cymbal should justify the cost of the cymbal not the mentality that everyone who has owned a sweet ride past say 2001 has abused it because travis barker does.

Sure, it may be near perfect condition, but just the fact that it has been used depreciates the value a lot.

not by £70, this isn't a car there is no deprecation on something that will not deteriorate.
one of theses cymbals just went for £218 on ebay.

musical instruments do not lose there price unless there are defects, or are shitty makes

A drum kit would not depreciate as much because you are not damaging the shells or hardware when you play. Cymbals on the other hand, are getting direct contact. It's like selling a really really durable drum head that sounds more or less the same as the day you bought it.

I bought a Sweet Ride back in december for about $280 Canadian, and the most recent one I saw on eBay was around $200ish

£50 pound difference, mine £40 difference. i know i'm getting my prices right for the uk
