I believe I made quite a deal on craigslist
« on: August 06, 2010, 01:48:40 PM »
I bought a Gretsch Blackhawk drum set for $100. I looked it up and they go for $600 brand new. It came with a hi-hat and a crash/ride cymbal so I gotta get some cymbals on it. This other guy on craigslist is selling a sabian ride, a sabian splash, and 2 cymbal stands for $100. I think that's also quite a deal. And then i just gotta buy a snare stand on it since the one he gave me is broke.

I don't think the dude knew how much the kit was worth. I asked him how many cymbals it came with and he said "kimbulls? ohhh cymbals? Are those the.....gold plated things. Yeah well there's the one you use with your foot and the one you hit with your hand."

I'll post pics once I get the other cymbals and a working snare stand.

All in all, good deal yes?

Can't go wrong with your first kit for $100!

Can't or won't? Either?

I bought the cymbals for $80 and bought a snare stand on amazon for $25 with shipping and everything. So overall, $205. Now i just gotta sell my electric drum set. I already got a couple calls. It'll be like trading my electric kit for this awesome kit.

Here's a picture. It still needs a snare stand which is supposed to come on friday according to Fedex. But fuck do I want it now.

Not a bad start, but seriously dude, if you can keep the electric, do it.

Once you're on your own, and in appartments, an acoustic kit wont be much good haha.

Haha too late. I already sold it. So basically, i traded my electric kit for this. But we'll see what happens if I live in an apartment what i'll do. I don't have to worry about it for a while
