Can anyone VERIFY that this tab is correct?
« on: August 06, 2010, 07:17:01 PM »
I know, I know....weird question.

I've played it out....and while in one way it sounds right, in another it sounds like something's off. Dunno if it's because the recorded version of the song cut the treble to make the D & G strings sound less trebly and I'm just confused because of the extreme tone difference....I don't know. Doesn't help my amp's broken at the moment so I can't EQ the sound to see.

Can someone take a look and maybe see if something's goofy, or if its just my ears playing tricks on me?

That's probably true, but this guy has a track record of getting it right a lot of the time.  I find it hard to believe that he'd go from being 95% correct to 50% wrong.

personally, my ear training has only been successful/correct for songs ive heard numerous times.

as ive never heard this song/band before. it feels pretty right. the chorus is definitely right, the second part of the "pre-verse" section seems off.

an easy thing you can do to practice is have the line out from your bass/amp go into the microphone input on your computer. then set the microphone options to play the audio trhough the speakers. be sure to keep your bass volume down.

so effectively, you are playing your bass through the speakers.

From there, play the song on itunes or youtube, with headphones on, and play the song on the bass. you will know you are playing the write notes because you will hear no dissonance.

alternatively, you could write out the song in a midi format. which is what i do mostly.
Would I lie about that which I am scared?
What did I say to you?
Step into a pot of gold,
rejoice in fire that which soon burns cold.

When I burn when what I do, I do.
Everything I do for you.
But he hates you, hates you.
And I guess it's nothing new for you.

total tool, is it possible that I may ask you to take an in-depth look at just the verse?  I HAVE been mulling over just that for the past three days....still not quite sure.
