Ebay Scammer?
« on: August 10, 2010, 04:41:21 AM »
On July 26th an auction that I listed sold for $45 with free shipping. It was for 4 Pokemon Charizard cards. The buyer paid me and I shipped the item on the 28th. I did not pay the extra money for the tracking number for delivery confirmation. I had just a $5 bill on me and the box came out to $4.95

Today I get an email from the buyer stating that he never got the package, and he is going to file a paypal dispute with me soon. Am I completely fucked? I already removed my credit card from my paypal account so it won't get charged, but I'm gonna have to pay eventually when collection agencies come. I realize it was extremely stupid to ship it without delivery confirmation. This pisses me off though. I have 60+ positive feedback and the buyer has 37 positive 100% feedback why would he screw me over for $45?

I guess there's nothing I can do and I'm just venting.. but I googled the situation and I came up with a yahoo answers link that leads me to this link

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080513133718AAIBjfq

which leads me to

https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/

Can anyone help me find the link where youre supposed to go to file one of these complaints? I went here https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/forms/MailFraudComplaint.aspx and I don't think that's the right thing. God I'm an idiot. I hate ebay scammers.

i don't really understand the situation completely but i mean if you did everything you were supposed to then i think you're fine.

You gotta go, you got to go! Sometimes there's dead arabs under you, but what can you do?

I don't use ebay much, but from what I've read, if someone files a dispute with paypal, doesn't paypal give them their money back even if the package gets sent?

So basically he's getting your cards for free?

Probably some greedy asian again. A cellphone wasn't enough for him.

This exact same situation happened to me and paypal will just take the $45 out of your account and your account will be $45 in debt. It sucks but you can't prove you sent the package so you're fucked basically.

My mom tries to keep every receipt in a box in her room so she said there's a small chance she might be able to find it. Is just a receipt enough proof that I shipped it though? Like I said, I did not get a tracking number. By the way, my paypal balance is now -$45.00

Nah, the case is closed now and the buyer won.

I messaged the buyer and it turns out he actually didnt get the package. At least I don't feel scammed now.

He could just be lying though?

I don't know what the conversation might include, but if I was a scammer I would probably be pretty good at heart-to-heart conversations.  I'm not saying you should jump down his throat, but I would still be suspicious.

I just got back from California so sorry I havent updated this in a while. The package was delivered to my house with an Insufficient address sticker on it. I resent it and the buyer got it no problem and removed the negative feedback and dispute. All a big misunderstanding :)
