Spots on my arms
« on: September 06, 2010, 03:33:28 PM »
I had some weird spots on both my arms. They itch like hell sometimes, especially when I try to sleep. I've had them since I came back from the blink concert, and considering I stood there under the burning sun for 12 hours, and i was covered in dust and a million people's sweat after the show, I'm pretty certain it has something to do with it. Anyone has had that before or knows what it is?

Pics of my arms (you cant see the spots much in the photo, but you can see red bits).

I think its an allergic reaction to the sun, or to sweaty Italians maybe. I hate it, its sooooo annoying and all I wanna do is scratch them, but I made them bleed last night so Im trying not to.

Have you ever had eczema before?  Could be that acting up in the heat.  Or maybe a fungus that you got from someone else at the Blink concert.

I'd book an appointment with a dermatologist as soon as possible.

Yeah, ive had skin problems before. I used to get horrible reactions on my legs, but it hasnt happened for about 6 years. I hope its not a fungus, thats disgusting :| I have 3 exams in the next 4 days, so an appointment with the doctor seems very unlikely... unless this gets worse. I put some Aloe vera gel on my arms, I read its good. Hope it helps!

Scabbies bro.

Quote
"The most common scabbies symptom is extreme itching, particularly at night. Scabbies causes the skin to become red and blistered. The itching is the result of an allergic reaction to the mites and their waste.

The most common areas of skin affected by scabbies include: between the toes and fingers, around the wrist, folds of the elbow, armpits, beltline, abdomen, genitalia, nipples, buttocks, and the groin. Babies and small children may get it on the face, scalp or soles of the feet.

The scabbies symptoms usually appear from two to six weeks after becoming infested. However, people who have previously had scabbies can show symptoms within a few days. "

I used to get this crazy reaction to the sun exactly like that. For some reason this year I didn't get it though. It's like an allergic reaction to UVA and UVB. Looks very similar to yours but you live in a hot country so maybe not?

What worked for me was, staying out of the sun and a good after sun. Antihistamines never worked for me but you might wanna try popping one incase it is some sort of allergic reaction to Italians.

Haha, I do hate most Italians, so it could be it lmao. It would be weird if it was a reaction to the sun or the heat, as you said, I live in Spain and im fine all the time. I just hope its only a normal rash, and not something weird or contagious :S

Should've got some Italian repellent! You'll have to be more prepared next time!

It's prob just a heat rash from sweating and being in the direct sun for so long. We rarely see the sun here so my skin goes crazy in hot countries haha.
