I haven't read any of the other posts in the topic, but as a Californian let me tell you this. You DEFINITELY want to go to San Fran and Los Angeles. San Francisco is a fucking blast. I was only there once for a few hours, but I loved every minute of it. Such a nice environment. Unless you feel unconfortable around gays, which I hope you don't.

And Los Angeles is quite the experience as well. I'd hit up Silverlake, Echo Park, Los Feliz, Hollywood, Larchmont Village [techinically called Hancock Park I think?], and maybe Old Town Pasadena.

I live in melbourne and its definetly the city to be for clubs and partying...sydney is a hole..been their everything is overpriced and shithouse...if ur going during our summer (nov-march) is when its warm go to queensland as its one of the best beaches in the world and the theme parks are pretty cool aswell (dreamworld, movieworld, seaworld, wet n wild) hope ne of that helps but yeah melbourne is the cheapest for nightlife and probably the best besides qld in summer hope i helped guys
